But seriously, folks...
here's a list of GMO foods.

The list of GMO products on the market today is long and growing. So, I recommend doing your research because the USDA has made the following determination: These products don't need to be labeled with GMO content information unless the product presents the threat of causing allergic reactions in humans.

Amazing, huh?

Several sites on the internet today are working hard to track and compile such information regarding these man-made foods. The items above are compiled from several lists including the 2003 food guide from The True Food Network.

The long-term dangers of Genetically Modified Foods are uncertain, but we have already seen severe short-term reactions

In 1989, a Japanese company paid out a $2 billion dollar settlement to several thousand American citizens who became ill from a genetically modified version of L-Tryptophan. Several dozen Americans died from ingesting L-Tryptophan before it was taken off the market. Today, some health practitioners are returning to non-GMO L-Tryptophan for use in treating sleep disorders.

In 1996, animal tests, conducted after the danger was inflicted on humans, proved that there was a severe danger fromgenes spliced from Brazil nuts and soybeans. The danger: allergic reactions so severe that the individuals could suffer anaphylactic shock, possibly leading to death4.
In 2006, Japan suspended long grain rice imports from the US after tests revealed that the rice contained trace amounts of GMO that were not approved for human consumption. In the US, we still accept variations of the banned genetic modification to the rice5.
It all started by the government giving blanket approval to the "Frankenstein" tomato. You see, by 1994, the government made a stunning decision, one that reeks of something foul. They decided that since the Flavr Savr® performed "so well in its tests" that its results would stand for any further GMO produce. Because of that, no further testing would be required before presenting it to consumers for consumption.
How Are GMO Foods Toxic?
Genetically modified foods affect the human physiology. A study of people in the Philippines reported that their bodies developed antibodies to Bt toxin. What this means is that, the human body processed these engineered traits into their guts and reacted to them. These same consumers of the GMO corn in the Philippines also developed a resistance to the antibiotic ampicillin.
This antibiotic resistance is something that science hadn't foreseen-which is indicative of questionable experimentation and not enough testing. And it makes me wonder if there is a bigger picture at hand. Maybe to create more illness and sell you more pharmaceuticals?

Here is the list of Genetically Modified Foods – get ready to clean out your pantry! If you're like me, I lost my appetite!. This list is shocking.

"What would I do if..."

I have been doing some speaking on the subject of Disaster Readiness lately. It never fails, before these group presentations, with a lack of confidence in their voices, I hear people say, "I... think we're good," believing they live in an area not likely to experience disasters. Either that or they're in flat-out denial with their heads in the sand, as it were.

In the wee hours this morning, I wondered how many have ever considered an ice storm that could knock-out power this winter. I couldn't help but wonder if folks considered joblessness, the death of a spouse, a broken water main, a tornado, or a wildfire such as the Bastrop, Texas fire of September 2011 that razed nearly 1700 homes, when they think of disasters. It's not always an awful hurricane or an earthquake that wipes people out. As a kid, my dad worked at a factory that burned down in Indiana. Usually, when things like that happen, a whole town suddenly finds itself unemployed. Perhaps it was a bankruptcy and not a fire. The unexpected can and does happen.

Most people don't want to consider a strategic nuclear attack creating an electromagnetic pulse (EMP) in this nation. You may recall the Republican debate where the Candidates were asked about their greatest concern for the nation. Newt Gingrich responded by saying his greatest concern was an EMP. The nation, collectively, replied, "HUH?" In the case of an EMP, all-things-electronic would cease to function... cell phones, TV, computers, even vehicles. We couldn't use credit cards, couldn't access an ATM, couldn't make purchases, and couldn't pump gas even if cars were running. Our water purification plants would stop functioning, too, making drinking water more hazardous than it already is. EMP's aren't limited to some rogue nation attacking our shores. No, one well-placed Coronal Mass Ejection (a sun burp) aimed at our favorite planet could cause an EMP, too (see TV programs such as "Revolution" for an idea of what life would be like without electricity).

Sadly, FEMA estimates 93% of Americans are simply unprepared. Does that include you? If nothing else, the accounts from victims of Hurricane Sandy have provided us with one more chance to consider our own disaster readiness.

Consider the following and ask "What would I do if..."

- I was grilling my last piece of meat on a campfire amidst the rubble of my neighborhood and the scent of the meat and the warmth of the fire started drawing people and dogs. Among those people are everything from fathers trying to scavenge food for their families and ex-cons, druggies and gangsters. Am I ready for that?

- neither FEMA or the relief agencies had gotten to my part of the incident area and the temperature is expected to fall below freezing.  Do I have sub-zero sleeping bags? How about mylar thermal space blankets? What will I do to stay warm?

- all the lights in my neighborhood were out except mine. I have a solar-powered generator and my lights still work, my fridge, and my stovetop. Am I ready for the attention that could be drawn to my home? Will I need to defend myself and my family?

- all currency had become devalued and was worthless. Gas, toilet paper, food and water are the only things of value. Do you have any? Am I trading my cash for pre-'65 silver coins right now, while things are peaceful? Perhaps I should start storing my cash in the form of gold while I can... Karatbars might be the way to go! It's free to open an account!

- there was nothing to eat? Would I get my gun and shoot something? Right, me and thousands of other hunters! Not only that but do I have enough ammo? Let's remember, dead deer are being found in the woods nationwide, 11,000 in Michigan alone. Fish and foul are turning up dead by the millions worldwide. Perhaps I should develop a taste for rats, which are suddenly so plentiful. Do I have rat traps? Maybe the BEST idea is to start stocking-up on dry foods with a long-term shelf-life. GOFoods are delicious, and I'd rather have my money in food than in the bank right now!

- I had no access to clean water? Could this be a good time to invest in a purifier? Some filters? Should I collect water off my roof, store in 55 gallon barrels, or buy Ozarka every time I shop? I hear we should plan on 2 gallons per person per day! That's a lot of water! Without it, we can't stay clean, clean messes, wash dirty clothes, water our seeds, our pets...or stay hydrated! Remember, we can only last about 3 days without water. I've heard most of the animals who drank Katrina's water died within a year.

- I had to leave my home quickly? If by car, do I have extra gasoline? Remember, after Hurricane Sandy, even gas stations with fuel had no power to pump it with. Besides, I do NOT want to leave my family for 6 hours while I'm in line awaiting my turn at the pump. Do I have a bug-out bag prepared to sustain me at least 3 days- one for each family member AND our pets? What about meds?

- I lost all my important papers? Deeds, titles, divorce decrees, marriage licenses, birth certificates, insurance papers, gold and stock certificates... should I have copies stored far inland, in a safe deposit box or, at least, with a relative? What about backing up my computer information with a company like Carbonite? It would do me no good if I had a back-up hard drive in the event of a major disaster. Imagine the hassle of having to start all over AND deal with all this paper stuff! And what about my business and employees?

There's another side to "Sandy"

There's another side to "Sandy"

I understand the ol' newspaper adage, "If it bleeds, it leads." I get that. In other words, the stories that are "juiciest" typically get all the press time. It's all about selling ads.

Well, there is an untold side to the "Sandy" disaster. What about those who actually WERE prepared for this devastating storm? How did they fare? Below are stories from three Preppers from the east coast.
… As of this writing (Friday), we do not have power nor do we expect it to be restored anytime soon… Yesterday, I was told by the Dept. of Highways that the county road about a mile from our house would not be plowed due to downed power lines. At the same time, the power company stated they could not begin to work on electric lines when the roads had not been cleared…
For us, our preps and food on hand prior to the storm will keep us sustained for a very long time… We have free natural gas on our property, plus more than one heat system that does not require electricity to function… We have a gravity fed spring, not a well, that does not require electricity to get our water. Cisterns collect thousands of gallons of this pure water and gravity flow delivers it to our home… Currently, we run our generator 2-3 times a day for a couple of hours at a time to keep the freezers and inside refrigerator cold. We keep fuel topped off at all times as well as have plenty of other fuel sources on hand for lights, cooking or whatever else might arise. After the first 2 days following the storm, we were able to clear paths to the main roads and can still get to town for things if needed.
…We are fine in our supplies and, thank the Lord, have not endured loss other than some structural issues with our farm fencing due to falling trees. Our current setup is better than most but yet it is very painful to see other human beings suffer, often times simply due to their failure to do anything to protect themselves or their family.

We fared very well, thanks to our preparations, which were enhanced by the knowledge gained from your fantastic web site these last several years.  Being “old Yankees” farm raised, we always knew that we needed to be as self-sufficient as possible…
We ate very well:  grass fed beef, organic vegetables from local farm, and have months worth of No. 10 cans or all kinds of food and MREs.  Hundreds of gallons of drinking and flushing water as we are on a well.  Filled up both cars before the storm hit, and being retired no need to go anywhere, nor plans to do so.
The living room has propane gas stove and three 100 gallon propane tanks.  We just completed installation of 15,000 watt Wenco generator and 500 gallon propane tank. …

Where I live in southern Pennsylvania, it rained solid, although very lightly most of the time, for 6 days straight. Today it’s finally letting off. We did have some high winds on Monday and Tuesday, but we haven’t had any flooding (despite living in a valley beside a stream) and no wind damage. The power did go out for a few hours Tuesday morning while we were sleeping, but otherwise it was a non event here.
Having lived through a high wind storm a number of years ago that took out our power for a week, we’re a little more prepared than we were then. We now have a 500 gallon propane tank and a gas range (cooking stove), a wood burner with plenty of seasoned wood, and a hand pump for water if needed.
Lastly, where I work, we have a lot of customers that were hit hard by Sandy. I’ve been astounded by how unprepared they were. It’s very clear many did not make any effort to have disaster recovery tests…If nothing else, this [relatively] “minor” Category 1 storm should help them be prepared for the next one.

I want you on my GOFoods Team!
Get your FREE SAMPLES NOW!

GOFoods offers a wide variety of the healthiest, most delicious food reserves with a 25-year shelf-life anyone can prepare in minutes!

By now, you're well aware that disasters can come at any time. From a massive hurricane like Sandy to a destructive wildfire like the one we had in Bastrop, Texas in September 2011 which destroyed nearly 1700 homes in a small town about the size of Denver International Airport, from a job loss to the death of a bread-winner, disasters come in all shapes and sizes and can impact us all, directly and indirectly.

Right now, all over the Northeastern United States, people are sitting in their cold, dark houses, running dangerously low on food and unable to drink their contaminated water. They know they have to boil it but some have no way to make a fire. Even their wood is wet.

According to FEMA, 93% of all Americans are UNPREPARED for disasters of any kind. Does that number include you? If your responsibilities include many people (schools, large corporations, hospitals, nursing homes), are you preparing to care for THEM while they're under your charge?

Join my GOFoods Team RIGHT NOW! We never know when our community will make headlines. Do NOT depend on the government, your church, or anyone else for help. NOW IS THE TIME to become a Ready American. The acronym "FEPS" reminds us to be Financially, Emotionally, Physically and Spiritually ready... for anything!

Let me know if I can help.

Blessings,
