How many times does the general public get caught by surprise by not having the right supplies for the right unexpected situation?
This is an easy detail to overlook, but you don't have to ignore that little voice in your head telling you to make even the most basic, the most rudimentary preparations.
You can begin taking steps necessary to ensure that you and yours are NEVER get caught off guard by anything, such as what is happening in Florida right now. A very slow moving tropical depression has been parked over the Sunshine State – generating destructive tornadoes and floods, over 2 feet of rain in many places!
And it isn't just Floridians who are having all the "fun" right now either. In Colorado, the Waldo Canyon Fire has been raging since June 23 and is now headed straight for a densely populated region.
When these stories make the news, the rest of us should see them as an opportunity to make basic improvements to our OWN disaster readiness – whether you need to stay put, or get out fast.
NOW is the time to make basic preparations for whatever may lie ahead – be it manmade social chaos, government emergency planning run amok, or natural disasters. You CAN and MUST be ready. My daughter graduates from nursing school in August. As a graduation present, she requested "a bug-out bag like yours," she said. Man, was I proud!
