You may have researched the idea of 'growing your own' already and may need little convincing of the importance and the advantages of growing your own food.
I'm no expert myself. My wife and I have only been gardening one season and lost most of what we planted didn't make it (we knew going in, this was a drill). But we agree with the concept. We loved working together in the dirt and learning new things. We even joined the local Organic Gardening Club and attend each monthly meeting.
